Florida homeowners facing foreclosures may be able to obtain a 90 day reprieve or stalling on their case due to Hurricane Irma. Florida and Puerto Rico residents in disaster designated areas can obtain what is called or referred to as a “moratorium” on their foreclosure and forbearance on foreclosure proceedings. However, the 90 day moratorium does not apply to ALL loans or ALL counties. Certain restrictions for the government assistance apply for example, to FHA insured home mortgages.
